Dear Members

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Newcomb Power Netball Club Incorporated will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday 1st November 2018 at The Newcomb Power Football Club Rooms.

Ordinary Business:
1. Confirm the minutes of the previous annual general meeting and of any special general meeting held since then
2. Receive and consider
o the annual report of the Committee on the activities of the Association during the preceding financial year
o the financial statements of the Association for the preceding financial year submitted by the Committee
3. Elect the members of the Committee
4. Confirm or vary the amounts (if any) of the annual subscription and joining fee.

All Committee positions will be declared vacant for 2019.

Information relating to the election process:
A member is eligible to be elected or appointed as a committee member if the member—
(a) is 18 years or over; and
(b) is entitled to vote at a general meeting.
An eligible member of the Association may—
(a) nominate himself or herself; or
(b) with the member’s consent, be nominated by another member.

Nominations will be accepted until the commencement of the election process for each vacant position during the AGM. Nomination forms can be submitted prior to the AGM via email to newcombnetball@hotmail.com or via mail to PO Box 78 Newcomb 3219.

Please note:
• A member who is nominated for a position and fails to be elected to that position may be nominated for any other position for which an election is yet to be held.
• If there is more that one nominee for a position a ballot will be conducted. Each candidate will be given the opportunity to present a short speech in support of his or her election prior to eligible members and proxies completing the ballot.
• Proxies – A member may appoint another member as his or her proxy to vote and speak on his or her behalf at a general meeting; the proxy must be in writing and signed by the member making the appointment and presented to the Chairperson prior to the start of the AGM
• Current non-members wanting to hold a committee position in 2019 or have voting rights will require as a minimum a 2018 Social Senior Membership. These can be purchased prior to the AGM via the Club’s Team App store https://newcombpowernetball.teamapp.com/store
• All elected position will be required to have a current Working with Children Check, those without will have 30 days to complete the application process.
